Васил Петров - Нещо Различно
Though still quite young, Vassil Petrov is an established name in
popular music. Always different and highly professional he has wide
interests in jazz and mainstream pop music. Vasko was born in 1964 in
Sofia and successfully graduated from the academy of popular music in
1990. He has participated in numerous jazz and pop festivals first as
a student and later as a professional performer.
He
has recorded and appeared many times on Bulgarian National Television
and radio. Quite naturally Vassil Petrov rates as a top selling
recording artist in Bulgaria scoring hit recordings in 1992 and 1994.
Vassil Petrov has turned extensively and given concerts in Helsinki,
Oslo, Stockholm, Belgrade as well as at the Winter Olimpics in
Lillehammer.
At present he works closely with Villi Kazassyan's
formations. Close cooperation binds him to the composer Vasil Parmakov
and lyricist Terry Kaliski with whom he is producing two pop albums.
Vasko also plays and performs his own compositions.
Vassil
Petrov has been influenced by many performers in the course of his
career but none more than the great Frank Sinatra. However, he is
determined to shape and develop his own distinctive style - that of
Vassil Petrov.
